The colony is effectively a city, a foothold of humanity on the surface of Aven Prime.
Characteristics
The colony is a self-contained environment, sealed away from the hostile outside environment and the colony ship in orbit over Aven Prime. As such, every necessity needs to be provided using local resources, from water and food, through nanites, to research projects.
The colony can be divided into separate sections by destroying tunnel connections. Each section will become its own energy grid and be isolated from the others until a connection can be made. Buildings not connected to the colony will not function - useful if you want to shut a section off temporarily.
The creep can attack various buildings in the colony and slowly sap their structural integrity. Build scrubber drone towers to counter this.
